Lunch and Mahjong - Pool Bar followed by poolside play (June 02, 2026)

Due to the Club closing the dining room this week for renovations, we will be having lunch at the pool bar followed by play poolside. Let's start lunch early at 11:30 AM to ensure we can get tables and good service from the pool bar. Dress will be casual due to the heat. Join us for water aerobics at 10 AM and then play mahjong after if you like.

Want to play Mahjong? Please join us to play using the National Mahjong League rules and cards. Our group consists of various levels of players and is open to anyone who knows the basic rules and has some experience with the game. If you would like to learn how to play, please reach out to Suzie Schmitz and she will put you on the list for the next teaching session.

We encourage everyone to join us for lunch before we play. Lunch gives us a chance to catch up and get to know everyone better before we sit down at separate tables and focus on play. We have a lot of new players that we are thrilled to have and would love to get better acquainted. Also, the Club strongly encourages players to have lunch before they allow us to use the clubhouse on Tuesdays which is their designated "card day".

What is Mahjongg or Mahjong? It is an ancient Chinese tile-based game that is popular worldwide. Mahjong is a game of skill, strategy, calculation and it involves a degree of chance. It's a lot of fun, try it out!

at Luma Restaurant at the Skybeach Hotel

Please join us at "Luma" restaurant for happy hour from 3:30pm to 5:00pm.

Parking is either self-park ($10) or valet ($15). On Fridays, many cars park alongside the roadway, (on the side opposite the hotel) as overflow parking for the concert there at night. There are no "No Parking" signs, but it is not clear whether such parking is legal.

Skybeach Hotel does appear to host bands on Friday nights. If there is a live performance that night, I'm sure several of us will be staying to hear the music. Lawn chairs are recommended as the available chairs may all be taken by the time we head over to the band area.
